Kate Wyatt Bio
Montreal pianist Kate Wyatt is one of the top tier jazz musicians of the city. She has toured festivals and jazz clubs nationally and internationally, and has been invited to perform with many recognized and respected musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, Kirk MacDonald, Yanick Rieu, Christine Jensen, Joe Sullivan, Dave Turner, Barry Elms, and Don Thompson. Kate has a multitude of recordings under her belt, both as a leader and ‘sideman’, including jazz albums, pop projects, and for film and TV. Her passion is for improvisation and innovation, and she strives for a high level of sensitivity and interaction in her performances. Kate currently leads her own original music projects, as well as being part of the Joe Sullivan 11tet, the Dave Turner Quartet, and the Adrian Vedady Quartet.
Kate Wyatt est une pianiste et compositrice de jazz qui vit et travaille à Montréal depuis 20 ans. Elle a, en tant que leader et accompagnatrice, participé à plusieurs enregistrements jazz. On la retrouve aussi sur des projets de musique populaire, de musique pour le cinéma, et la télévision. Sa passion première réside dans l’improvisation. Dans ses performances, elle aspire à un haut niveau de sensibilité et d’interactions. Kate a eu la chance de travailler avec la plupart des meilleurs musiciens jazz de Montréal ainsi qu’avec quelques grands noms de la scène internationale, tels que Kenny Wheeler, Itamar Borochov, et Kirk MacDonald. Elle dirige actuellement son propre trio et quintet, tout en faisant partie du Joe Sullivan 11tet et du Adrian Vedady Quartet.
Adrian Vedady Bio
Adrian Vedady is one of Montreal’s finest jazz bassists. Since 1998 he has been performing, recording and touring nationally and internationally. He is known for his beautiful sound, his creativity, his ability to connect with a broad array of musicians and his soulfulness.
He performs regularly with such great Montreal musicians as Jim Doxas, Francois Bourassa, Al McLean, Christine Jensen, Andre White, Steve Amirault, the late Wray Downes, Yannick Rieu, Kevin Dean, Remi Bolduc and Jean Beaudet. He has performed with Canadian jazz greats, Lorne Lofsky, Kirk MacDonald, Brad Turner, Florian Hoefner, Kevin Turcotte and Roddy Ellias. Vedady has worked with international artists such as Marc Copland, Dan Weiss, Peter Bernstein, Ingrid Jensen, Jean-Michel Pilc, Sheila Jordan, Chet Doxas, David Liebman, Ariel Pocock, Ravi Coltrane and George Colligan.
